Getting there & staying over
Travel & Stay
Getting to Markree Castle
Markree Castle is in Collooney, Co. Sligo, about 15 minutes south of Sligo town.
Free on-site parking is available at the castle for the full weekend, so once you arrive you don't need to move your car again.
Coach on the night
We're organising coach transport from Sligo town to the castle and back on the wedding night, numbers depending on where guests are staying. This is why we're asking on the RSVP where you plan to stay and how you're getting to the venue, so we can book the right size coach.

Good to know
Questions & Answers
Is there a dress code?
Formal attire for the wedding day. Think garden party meets black tie, whatever makes you feel your best. Day two is strictly casual, comfortable shoes recommended for the lawn games and walk.
Are children welcome?
Yes, children are very welcome.
Can I bring a plus-one?
If your invitation names a plus-one, they're very welcome; just include their details when you RSVP. If you're not sure, drop us a message.
What's the weather like at the end of July?
Irish summer, so anything is possible. Markree Castle has beautiful covered areas and the ceremony has an indoor option, so don't worry if the forecast turns.
Will there be transport to and from the venue?
Yes, we're organising a coach from Sligo town on the wedding night. Let us know on your RSVP how you're planning to get to the venue and we'll be in touch with times.
Is Day Two included for all guests?
Day Two is open to everyone staying on, but we do need numbers in advance for catering, so please answer that question on the RSVP even if you think you might just pop by.
Don't see your question here? Get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
We can't wait to celebrate with you
